Hel is the daughter of Loki and ruler of the Underworld.   It is there she keeps all the souls that do not die in glory.  She is a cold and bitter deity who despises the other Asgardian deities.

Dogma

A typical follower of Hel is one who has been shunned by society or otherwise has been denied something they believe is rightfully theirs.  Though Hel imposes no restrictions on those who worship her, those who do emulate their goddess by showing no sympathy or feeling for those in need.  Hel's worshippers strive to attain total emotional apathy.  Positive emotions, such as love, compassion and happiness, are seen as weaknesses by those who have sworn allegiance to Hel.  Even rage is too strong of an emotion to be acceptable.  If one must feel at all, only personal negative emotions such as despair, bitterness, and melancholy are deemed suitable.

Clergy

Hel's clerics are not recognized by the Ymbertist church.  They perform no services for the community, but are often looked upon as exemplars for those who have given themselves over to Hel.  They wear half-black/half-white mantles as a symbol of their devotion to Hel.  Hel's clergy is organized into small cabals of devotees.  The clerics lead their cabals in the spread of fear, unexpected death and vile experimentation with the undead.  Disciples who show promise or who otherwise exemplify the teachings of the cabal are invested into the clergy.  After their investiture, a cleric may serve under another cleric leading the cabal or they may go start a cabal of their own since most clerics of Hel do not care enough to become head of a cabal through violent means.
