Heimdall
is the protector of Asgard, guardian of the Bifrost Bridge. His vigilance
prevents giants and other undesirables from entering Asgard at their whim. Ragnarok is supposed to begin with the blowing of Heimdall's Gjallahorn.
Dogma
Those
who adhere to the ways of Heimdall are protective of their communities and those
who are unable to defend themselves. Heimdall's followers practice self
discipline, engage in civic duty and respect legal authority. Many
organize themselves into well regulated militia who serve the community in times
of need.
Clergy
Clerics
who have devoted themselves to Heimdall focus their sermons on the virtues of
community, working together for the good of all and watching out for one another. They wear their cassocks a brilliant white; the combination of
all the colors of the Bifrost Bridge. They often find themselves helping
to form and train the community constabulary. Churches pastored a cleric
of Heimdall often have bells installed that can serve as a warning to the community. Many Paladins of the Asgardian faith have devoted themselves to
the service of Heimdall. They are leaders of the community watch and in
some smaller villages, the sole protector. Monasteries dedicated to
Heimdall are often located at the peripheries of Futhark land and maintain a
vigilant watch on those who come and go. These monasteries are designed to
be awash in light and have prisms set up to splash rainbows around its halls. The rainbow is a focus of meditation for Heimdall's monks and they
contemplate its many colors.
