One of the most popular goddesses among the Clasbron, Brigit
is especially venerated among the peasantry. Brigit is a kind, gentle goddess when dealing with her people but is a
mighty warrior when danger threatens their families and fields.
Dogma
Brigit’s
worshippers are taught that fire is central to the community as it keeps the
home warm in winter and allows the shaping of metal in weapons for the
protection of the community. Poetry, her teachings say, cleanses the soul and should be
composed as often as possible. Followers
of Brigit are expected to share with those who ask and to give to those in
need.
Clergy
Clerics
of Brigit wear garments of red and gold, representative of Brigit’s flame. Like
the flame, they have warm and nurturing personalities. They are active forces in the community and often are called upon for
conflict resolution. Clerics of
Brigit work with Goibhniu’s clerics to forge weapons. Brigit’s clerics are often sought during childbirth or for the blessing
of new homes. They also run several
orphanages.
Brigit’s
Druids are masters of flame and harness the powers of fire to shape nature. Their
sanctuaries are located in open clearings or idyllic meadows with permanent fire
pits.
All
Brigit’s Monks are female (Nuns). Their monasteries are warm and always welcoming of travelers. They meditate on the flame as a focus for insight and
inspiration. Brigit’s
Nuns imitate the flickering flame in their fighting styles.
