Goibhniu, a son of Brigit, is a jovial blacksmith deity.  He creates magic weapons and armor for the Danaan deities.

Dogma

Goibhniu requires very little from his followers:  create weapons; weapons of quality if you are capable and drink beer, lots of it.  Goibhniu is often invoked in taverns by toasts made in his honor.  He teaches that the quality of a weapon is a reflection of the quality of person who makes it and the weapon you make may very well be the one that defends you someday.

Clergy

Though there are few clerics of Goibhniu, those that are prove to be great asset to their parish.  They spend much of their time dispensing wisdom while pounding out weapons on their forges.  Goibhniu’s clerics wear robes of red and black that are often seen with the tops rolled down and belted around the cleric’s waist.  Clerics of Goibhniu also visit blacksmiths to inspect weapons and insure that the quality is up to par.  If the work is shoddy, the cleric will take the time to show the smith how to do it right and find out if there are problems in the smith’s life.  Such conversations are continued later at the tavern.

There are only a handful of Druids who honor the Smith god.  Most do so by protecting grain fields or ensuring that veins of iron ore do not fall into potentially dangerous hands.  The sanctuaries at the iron veins are stark, foreboding places while those sanctuaries in the grain fields are often designed into peculiar rune shapes.
