Apollo, the Golden
God, is a solar deity as well as a deity of healing and archery. He is commonly worshipped by healers, athletes and musicians. Apollo often gives divinations to his oracles, revealing the course of
fate. Although generally a benign
deity, Apollo’s wrath can be devastating and sure ruin befalls any who provoke
him.
Dogma
Those who follow
Apollo believe that good deeds should be done whenever possible and evil deeds
and their perpetrators should be dealt with swiftly. Apollo’s clerics teach honesty and justice and actively
oppose corruption and thievery wherever it is found. Each person is urged to confront evil on their own if they are able,
though they are expected to leave final justice to the courts.
Clergy
Apollo’s clerics
actively serve the community in a variety of ways. His churches are frequently used as places of healing and the
golden robes of Apollo’s clergy are among the first on the scene after violent confrontations. Church structures
are built east to west with large stained glass windows on both ends and a
central window in the ceiling to allow the noonday sunlight to flood the building. Clerics in the service of
Apollo are often talented musicians and Apollo’s churches are constantly
filled with music from sunrise to sunset. Worship
service to Apollo always includes music and dancing. Penitents will often visit clerics of Apollo seeking absolution of their
sins.
