Gaea is the Mother Earth. From her nearly all the
deities of the Olympian pantheon are descended. She was the consort to Ouranos, but because he had hidden their monstrous
offspring, she had their son Cronus castrate him.
Dogma
Followers of Gaea are
expected to treat their mothers respectfully and are required to give the earth
equal reverence. They are taught
that the earth is the source of all life and that the seasons reflect the life
cycle of birth to death. Gaea’s
worshippers believe that all are part of this cycle and should live their lives
without deference to the actions of others where it doesn’t affect ones own
life.
Clergy
Gaea’s
clergy are usually found pastoring small churches in farming communities. These churches enjoy autonomy outside of the Olympian hierarchy.
Her clerics wear robes of purple and green during their visits to
expectant mothers and at funeral rites. They
are often responsible for organizing planting and harvest festivals and bless
the community that their year may be fruitful.
Gaea’s
Druids are perhaps the most vigilant of all druids devoted to the Olympian pantheon. They actively punish
those who pollute or destroy the earth and likewise give assistance to those
seeking to heal the land.
