Hecate is the dark goddess of magic and sorcery. Once an ally of the Olympian deities, her dark practices and association with Necromancy have placed her and her church on the fringes Olympian religious practice. Though her association
with children may seem odd, it is her hope that the children can be corrupted into loyal followers.
Dogma
Hecate’s church instructs its adherents that magic is power. Magic is a powerful weapon to be used to farther ones goals in the world, regardless of the consequence it may bring to others. Her followers are often at odds with those of Hades due to her teachings that undead are useful tools and that there is power in becoming undead. Strangely enough, her followers are taught that children are to be protected at any cost.
Clergy
Though the Latinian Orthodox church recognizes her clergy, Hecate’s clerics have no formal organization and build no churches in her honor. Some shrines to her exist, though; erected in dark, foreboding forests where her usually solitary clergy may congregate for rituals. Her itinerant clergy’s pale blue robes imitate the color of moonlight and are often mistaken for ghosts. Many of her clerics wield arcane magic to some degree and often act as midwives so they can gauge a newborn’s potential as a magic wielder.
