Hera is the wife of Zeus and queen of the Olympian deities. As such, she is matron deity of households and motherhood. She is wary of her habitually unfaithful husband and puts little stock in his clergy as well.

Dogma
Hera’s teachings stress the importance of a stable home. Men are taught to support their wives and be faithful to them, and women are taught to be obedient to their husbands. She also stresses to her followers that they are the only ones who can look out for themselves and not to rely on anyone to do them any favors.

Clergy
The typical cleric of Hera is a proud, stern woman dressed in blue and green robes adorned with peacock feathers. She is capable of being cordial, but even then is a bit aloof from her flock. Hera’s clerics perform wedding services, offer marriage counseling, and are quick to respond to allegations of infidelity. Married couples wishing a divorce must beseech a cleric of Hera, who will then determine whether or not a divorce is in order and, if so, make a determination as to any dispensation, if any, that should be forfeit by the husband to the wife. Hera has few churches dedicated to her alone and usually shares worship space with Zeus. Most clerics of Hera marry clerics of Zeus in order to advance themselves in the church hierarchy.
