Rhea is a Titaness,
wife of Cronus, and the mother of many of the Olympian deities. She is a gentle, loving goddess who switched out a stone for her son Zeus
when Cronus was devouring their offspring.
Dogma
Kindness and comfort are the tenets of Rhea’s
practitioners. Her followers mainly consist of women, but also some men who have a deep affection for their own mother. Rhea
encourages her followers to help those in need without compensation and to protect children whenever possible. Rhea’s teachings also instruct her worshippers to
seek the least violent solution to their problems. Devotion to these ideals, Rhea’s worshippers believe, will show Rhea that they will be good mothers and she in
turn will grant them fertility.
Clergy
Rhea’s clergy is mostly made of itinerant healers, going from
community to community healing the sick and counseling those who wish to bear children. In many cases, they act as midwives for those women giving birth. During harvest season, the clerics will assist by protecting the harvest from vermin,
vandals and inclement weather. Rhea’s clerics wear robes of green and yellow so that people will recognize their station.
Druids devoted to
Rhea are less common than those of Demeter or Gaea. They will assist during the harvest, but are also vigilant that not too
much land is being used for agriculture for the trees and bushes yield a crop of
their own.
